Dr. Ibrahim Akoum

Holds a
Doctorate degree in International Political Economy, a Masters in Public
policy, and an MBA in Management Information Systems from the USA.
Has
over 30 years of professional experience in international economics,
macroeconomic policy analysis, capital markets, executive training, and
academia. He worked at international and regional development organizations
such as the World Bank and the Arab Monetary Fund (AMF), and has extensive
advisory and consulting experience with regional and international development
organizations and governments including the World Bank, the United Nations
(UN-ESCWA), the Union of Arab Banks, and Dubai Council for Economic Affairs
(DCEA), and Ras Al Khaimah Center for Statistics & Studies (RAKCSS).
As an
academic was an Associate Professor of business and economics, Dean of the
College of Business Administration at Rafik Hariri University (RHU) in Lebanon,
Chairman of the Financial Studies Department at the College of Business
Administration (CBA). Also served as the Special Advisor to the President for
Strategic Planning at RHU, and a member of the university’s Academic Board.
Dr.
Akoum published books, articles in professional specialized business and
economic magazines and newspapers, and articles in international refereed
journals. His areas of expertise include policy analysis, privatization,
globalization, poverty, corporate governance, capital markets, and
international economics.
